GENERAL NOTES :

AFTER A SIX MONTH BREAK (NEW OFFSPRING) I GOT THE URGE/TIME TO DO SOME MAPPING.
ABOUT FOUR MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS MY PC DIED AND I LOST A LOT OF DATA BECAUSE
(I WAS STUPID PLUS) THE RAID ARRAY ON MY OLD MOBO WAS A DIFFERENT CHIPSET TO MY
NEW MOBO SO WHEN I BUILT IT I ONLY HAD THE OPTION OF WIPING THEM AND STARTING
AGAIN. I DO BACK UP MOST STUFF BUT ON THIS OCCASION I HAD NEGLECTED MY WORKSHOP
FOLDER (WHERE I KEPT ALL MY MAPPING STUFF). LUCKILY, I HAD THE LATEST VERSIONS OF THESE MAPS ON MY PSP STILL.

I HAVE TRIED TO MAKE CONTACT WITH SOME OF THE OLD TEAM BUT I BELIEVE THEY HAVE MOVED
ON TO OTHER THINGS.IF ANYBODY OUT THERE WANTS TO TAKE ON THIS PROJECT I WOULD LOVE KEEP MAPPING FOR IT.

THE PC VERSION RUNS ON THE DARKPLACES ENGINE BUT I CREATED THESE MAPS WITH THE LIMITATIONS OF THE PSP IN MIND. I STUCK TO THE ORIGINAL QUAKE LIMITATIONS (LOW POLY/LIMITED TEXTURE/MODEL AMOUNTS) SO THAT I KNEW IT WOULD RUN WELL.

THIS CREATED SOME STRANGE LIMITATIONS/BUGS WITH THE PSP CODE WITH SWITCHES AND
CERTAIN OTHER ELEMENTS THAT WOULD WORK IN QUAKE BUT NOT ON THE PSP.
EXAMPLE : THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET THE GOODS LIFT WORKING PROPERLY WAS TO HAVE
IT WAITING IN AN OFF STATE THEN ONCE TRIGGERED IT WILL CONSTANTLY MOVE UP AND DOWN
WITH A SLIGHT PAUSE AT THE TOP AND BOTTOM. ALL BECAUSE THE "TOGGLE" FLAG WOULDN'T
WORK WITH ANY OF THE MOVING ENTITIES.

EVERYTHING INCLUDED HERE IS STILL IN A WORK-IN-PROGRESS STATE. I WOULDN'T SAY
ANY OF IT WAS NEAR FINISHED OR COMPLETE. I THOUGHT IT BETTER TO RELEASE THEN HAVE THESE MAPS IN DEV LIMBO FOREVER.

I HAVE INCLUDED A RAR'ED UP CONFIG.CFG BECAUSE SOMETIMES THE BINDINGS WILL MESS UP
AND STOP WORKING.

I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THE TEXTURES, MODELS, SOUNDS, CODE OR ENGINE USED.
THESE WERE ALL CREATED BY OTHER MEMBERS OF RIBCAGED ENTERTAINMENT OR THEIR RESPECTIVE OWNERS (VALVE,ID ETC)

KNOWN ISSUES :

THE FIRST MAP LOADED WILL WORK FINE BUT THE NEXT LINKED [TRIGGER_CHANGELEVEL] MAP 
WILL EITHER CRASH IF YOU TRY TO CHANGE WEAPON OR WON'T REGISTER THE D-PAD LEFT
KEYPRESS, SO YOU CAN'T CHANGE WEAPON.

THE WORK AROUND IS TO LOAD EACH MAP YOURSELF FROM THE CONSOLE.
[START > CONFIGURATION > GO TO CONSOLE > PRESS SQUARE TO START INPUT].
NOTE : CONFIGURATION IS MISPELT AS CONFIGUARTION ON THE PSP MENU.
MAPS RUN IN THE ORDER SHOWN ABOVE IN THE MAPS SECTION.

CUSTOM SOUND .WAVS DON'T GET PLAYED. IT SOMETIMES REVERTS TO THE ORIGINAL QUAKE
.WAVS. THE METHOD I USED WAS TO REPLACE SOME OF THE QUAKE FILENAMES LIKE TALK.WAV,
WHICH WAORKS WELL ON THE PC BUT NOT ON THE PSP. IT COULD BE PICKY ABOUT THE WAV FILE FORMAT OR BITRATE BUT THE STRANGE THING IS THAT ONE OF THE FILES I GOT FROM THE ORIGINAL LEFT4DEAD WORKS BUT THE OTHERS DON'T EVEN THOUGH THERE THE SAME FORMAT.

THE FILES I SWAPPED OUT FOR LEFT4DEAD WAVS ARE :

SOUND/AMBIENCE/SWAMP2.WAV & THUNDER1.WAV (SWAMP2 IS "BACK FROM CALI")

SOUND/MISC/SECRET.WAV, TALK.WAV & TRIGGER.WAV

THERE IS POSSIBLY A BETTER WAY OF DOING THIS.
DARKPLACES SUPPORTS CUSTOM WAV FILES ON THE PC BUT I KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT THE 
PSP KUROK ENGINE AND WHAT IT'S CAPABLE OFF.

IT DOES THROW UP ERRORS ABOUT SOUND FILES NOT BEING PRECACHED WHICH DARKPLACES
DOESN'T
